Ski Lessons
The Outfitters is pleased to provide ski lessons again this winter! Whether you'd like to start from the basics, improve your technique or you want to take on skate skiing, our nordic ski instructors will show you just what you need to know. Evening and weekend sessions are available for both private and group lessons.
Private Lessons $30/hr & Group Lessons $20/hr (for a minimum of 2 people). Instructor to student ratio is 1:6 for group lessons.
Avalon Nordic Ski Club Members: Private Lessons $25/hr & Group Lessons $15/hr.

Nordic Ski Skills (N.S.S)
Have you ever thought about trying skiing or have you skied before and would just like to fine tune your technique and become a better skier? If so the Nordic Ski Skills program is the one for you! The 4 week program is perfect for any beginner to intermediate skier wanting to learn the basics of both classic and skate skiing in a fun group environment. Our experienced instructor will cover all the basic skills and techniques needed to become a competent skier, such as: Balance in motion, Effective poling, Downhill and Uphill maneuvers, Diagonal striding, Transitions, Double kick pole, Free skate techniques and much more.
The N.S.S program starts at 6:30pm on January 16th* at the Pippy Park Nordic center (Monday and Wednesday evenings weekly). The course costs just $199.99 for 8 instructions sessions plus all equipment rentals. The Outfitters, Salomon Short Ski Race Series
The Outfitters, Salomon Short Ski Race Series is a weekly social racing series for anyone & any age, who enjoys the challenge of ski racing. The emphasis for these races is on fun and racing experience. Previous experience is not necessary, so come down and give it a try! The races take place the Pippy Park Nordic Centre at the trailer park on Thursday evening, starting 6:30pm sharp. Pre-registration is required and will take place at the North Bank Lodge at 6:00pm. The cost is $2 per race or $10 for the full series. Cheques should be made payable to the Avalon Nordic Ski Club. Sorry, there are no refunds available.
